Tenant Complaint to Landlord


Overview
Use this letter to notify your Landlord of any problems with your property, including requests for maintenance and/or repairs.
Depending on the terms of your lease, there are certain things which you may be required to maintain and/or repair, so make sure what you are asking the Landlord to do is something you have the right to request.

When You Need It
-To help follow-up on verbal requests you have made to your landlord for maintenance and/or repairs of your property.
-To document in writing requests you have made to your landlord for maintenance and/or repairs of your property.

Getting Started
-Locate the correct name and address for contacting the Landlord about any complaints with the property.
-Have all necessary information available regarding the problem, including when you first noticed the problem, any previous contact with the Landlord regarding the problem and any information necessary to provide a complete description of the problem to the Landlord to enable the problem to be remedied.
-If you are not the Tenant, have the name, full address and preferred phone number available to allow the Landlord to easily contact the Tenant.

When to Review and Revise
-When the landlord does not adequately respond to your requests for maintenance and/or repairs.
-If additional maintenance and/or repairs of your property are necessary.
