Lead Paint Disclosure

The Lead-Based Paint Disclosure form is used to comply with federal law requiring disclosure of information about lead-based paint in properties built before 1978.
The Lead-Based Paint Disclosure form is used by anyone selling or leasing residential property to comply with this federal law.

When You Need It
-This form should be prepared and signed whenever you will contract for the sale or lease of residential real property built before 1978. 
-The form is signed by the owner/seller, the buyer or tenant, and the agent (if one is involved in the transaction).

Getting Started

You will need:
-Determine whether the property which is the subject of the Lead-Based  Paint Disclosure form is a rental or for sale.
-Carefully review the terms and conditions stated in the form to ensure compliance.

When to Review and Revise 
-If additional information is obtained concerning the presence of lead-based paint on the property.
-If the status of the property changes from rental to sale, or from sale to rental.
