Overview
The Challenge to Adverse Credit Action is a request to a bank, store, or other credit provider to supply a written explanation as to why some adverse credit action, such as a denial of credit, was taken.

When You Need It
-To demand a written explanation as to why some adverse credit action, such as a denial of credit, was taken.  This should be done immediately after you have been notified to demonstrate that you know your rights and intend to exercise them.  
-You must make your request within 60 days of the date you are notified of the adverse action.

Getting Started

You will need:
-The name and address of the entity issuing the adverse credit action.
-The details of the letter informing you of the adverse action.

When to Review and Revise 
-To revise any incorrect information in the letter.
-To send a follow-up letter to your previous demand.
-To address another adverse credit action.
